Sparky, Come Home

Our little dog, Sparky somehow got out today. We still cannot remember when he could have gotten outside, but he's no longer in our home and we are very sad.
We live off of E. Stassney Lane and Tallow Tree Dr., near Houston Elementary School.
If you live near me and this sweet puppy - please call me. 656-0453

He's a white Pomeranian. Answers to the same Sparky. Loves people. Unfortunately, we haven't registered him with the city yet, so the only way we're going to find him is if we look for him. Of course, that's the only answer to the situation anyway. We love him so much. We haven't had him that long, but we want him to come home to our family.

I'm posting this entry on my scrappin' blog, because I was browsing through other scrapper's blogs and came across a very sad story about a couple who was on their way to visit their family over Memorial Day weekend when their car was engulfed by a tornado. They were both found in a field off the highway. The tornado killed them. You can read the news story here.
My heart goes out to the family of this couple. Tears streamed down my face as I read the beautiful tributes written by family and friends. But the most touching post I read was actually one written by one of the sisters-in-law, Jayme. She wrote a tribute to her sisters-in-law. I can't remember the last time I told my sisters-in-law how much I truly love and care about them. We're not nearly as close as we used to be, but my life wouldn't be complete without them. Of course, I'm going to include my little sister as well in this tribute.

13 reasons I love H:
13. She's my sister by birth. As we grew up, we became completely different people, but as we grew older, we became closer than ever.
12. She is so funny. I can still remember the day I introduced her to Stephen. You'll have to ask her about that.
11. She loves my kids unconditionally. I know that she prays for them daily and truly looks forward to seeing them when the opportunity comes about.
10. She loves me unconditionally - even when I'm super emotional and down on myself.
9. She has helped me see what it is to love like Jesus.
8. She has an amazingly beautiful voice that I could listen to all day.
7. She can laugh with me until we both either snort or have to pee, and then the laughter only brings on more laughter and happy tears.
6. She's completely honest with me, but she does so in a very loving way.
5. She's always a phone call (or text message) away.
4. She bears the name I gave her :) Okay, so her name is Heather Joy and not Heather Murphy, but still, I picked out her name
3. She will drop anything to help me out in an emergency (and has, numerous times)
2. She's amazing with children. She's going to be a great mommy!
1. She's one of my best friends.

13 reasons I love R:
13. She's very thoughtful. She is always bringing something little for one of my kids (if not both) just because she HAD to.
12. She gave me my first nephew, and treated me like his aunt, even though it wasn't official until he was 7 months old.
11. She loves my kids unconditionally. I know she prays for them daily.
10. She makes amazing birthday cakes that actually taste as good as they look.
9. She has an amazing faith in the the Lord and all He is capable of. She relies on Him for all the answers, even to some tough questions and situations that would have me running away.
8. She forgives without question.
7. She is so genuine.
6. She is very loyal to her family.
5. She gave me my second nephew and understood that Stephen and I needed time away before we could take time for him. And we love him just the same.
4. She can turn a quick run to the store into a 4 hour shopping marathon and love very minute of it. :)
3. She's a people-pleaser, just like me :)
2. She's a great mother and wife.
1. She's is incredibly generous. She tries to help out wherever she is needed.

13 reasons I love S:
13. She is very creative - whether it's stamping or scrapbooking (traditional or digital). Her projects are amazing.
12. She's been in my life for 14 years - and in those years there has been lots of laughter and tears.
11. She loves my kids unconditionally. I know she prays for them daily.
10. She has a beautiful smile.
9. She gave me my two youngest nephews, who are the sweetest boys on the face of the earth, aside from Cayden. They give the best hugs and their laughs are contagious
8. She knows when I may need encouragement and sends it in the form of an email or a note in the mail.
7. She made me Cayden's scrapbook and gave it to me at his birth. Aside from digital scrapbooking, it's the only scrapping I have done of him. I'd be really far behind without it! :)
6. She's very thoughtful.
5. She's a great wife to D and an awesome mommy to her boys.
4. She is very passionate about things that mean a lot to her.
3. She loves her friends very much.
2. She's very sentimental, though at times you wouldn't realize it.
1. She always shares her photos with me if they have my immediate family in them. This is important since half the time, I don't have my camera with me.

Okay girls! I love you all very much and felt the need to share it with the world.

Numbers 6:24-26 "The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."

Philemon 1:4-7 "I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints."

Colossians 1:9-12 "For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light."

Summer has begun

Summer vacation has officially begun here in the McIntyre Household.  And we have been busy living it up.

The last day of school was full of fun in the sun - beginning with a picnic at the park and ending at the school yard to play on a huge water slide.  The kids had a blast.  I've been harassed by my husband for not getting the Splash Day photos online quick enough (because well, you know, I have so much free time on my hands ;) )so here they are for everyone to see:

And for graduation, Hannah received $5 from her Mimi and Uncle Eddie (thanks, Mimi and Uncle Eddie!)  She also received a balloon and a flower but the $5 was very exciting for her.  She got to go to the store and pick out something to purchase.  She chose this Hannah Montana Body Paint and Tattoo Kit.

And she decided to paint not only herself, but her baby brother.  Please ignore the insane mess in the background.  The first day of summer was very rough on us all.

School was our on Wednesday.  Thursday morning we hit the Austin Children's Museum with Mimi and Alexander for Storytime and Sing-A-Long with Stacy Gray, a local children's artist.

We are amidst Potty Training at our home.  Cayden is showing some interest (okay he likes to go potty for M&Ms but I'm not going to discourage it!)  So I got this photo Thursday evening after I fell out of the already broken chair in our backyard and bruised my tailbone and strained my shoulder.  Mammaw came over to help me before Stephen got home.  Mammaw put Cayden in big boy pants and then he put the Darth Vadar mask and the photo op was there!

Friday we went over to the Lamberts for a morning of fun outside.  This was of course after my emergency chiropractor appointment.  Dr. Felder opened her office just for me so if you live in the Georgetown Area and need a chiropractor, I highly recommend this amazing woman!

Over the weekend, we attended the Well Summer Retreat at Camp Lone Star.  It was truly amazing and so uplifting.

Our family is very blessed to be a part of this Body of Christ.

Happy PreSchool Graduation

It's finally over. Tomorrow is the very last day of preschool.  And all they are doing tomorrow is going to the park, having a picnic, and having splash day.  It's going to be a day of lots of fun for the kids.

The program & graduation ceremony were great.  The program started with the Texas Musical.  The kids sang & danced for us.  Soooo cute.  I have a couple of short videos

Wild Ride and Deep in the Heart

Here are some photos from the program:

Hannah's PreK school year is coming to an end.  On Tuesday we will celebrate PreK Graduation and End of Year program.  Wednesday is the End of School Year Party, and then School's Out for Summer.  I don't know how excited Hannah or I am about this event.  What I do know is that play dates will be plentiful, and the learning will continue throughout the summer.  We will also be getting used to a new bedtime and morning routine come mid-summer.  Elementary School starts really early in the morning compared to PreK so we will all have to start going to be earlier so we can wake up and have breakfast together.

Hard to believe my little girl will be going to Kindergarten.  Thankfully, we have had our transfer request approved and will be filling out the Kindergarten registration forms this week to get her enrolled at her new school.

Playing Catch Up

Life has been incredibly busy in the McIntyre Household.  You'd like without having Miss P to keep an eye on, I'd have more free time, but we have just been running like mad.  This coming week is Hannah's last full week of Pre-K.  Her Pre-K Graduation is on Tuesday, May 20th.  I'm still in shock and very emotional over this milestone in her life.  I'm sure by Kindergarten, I will be a complete basketcase.

Stephen took last week off.  It has been really nice having him home with me, but with him home, housework was put aside and we had lots of family time.  So this weekend, we have been cleaning like there's nothing else to do.  Yes, on Mother's Day, I scrubbed the kitchen floor and completely vacuumed the living room (after cleaning it up).  Thankfully, it is now nice and clean and the week will be off to a great start.  We also got a new refrigerator this weekend.  And although we measured it precisely before purchasing it, we did not take into account that the kitchen cabinets were installed crooked so quite a bit of maneuvering had to be done (including shortening our countertops and moving over the store and cabinet) before the fridge could be properly installed.  Thank goodness for Grandpa!!!  We now have an awesome fridge and a very clean kitchen (that'd be my part of the installation).

We also have started the Kindergarten Registration Process.  Hannah will not be attending the neighborhood school.  We were very unhappy, disappointed, and uncomfortable with our experience that her assigned school so we found a wonderful school up the road from Grandma and Grandpa's house and have started the transfer process.  We've met with the principal and have been told that Hannah is welcome to attend Kindergarten at the new school, so now we just have to complete the formal transfer process.  Right now our transfer request have been put into the appeal process and will be approved when the principal receives a phone call asking whether or not Hannah is welcome at the school.  I'm so thankful to have already gone and met the principal and spoken with her about our concerns.  This has been such a blessing.  And the new principal is a wonderful administrator.

So aside from life as we all know it, Stephen and I, along with J & E, walked in the March for Babies on Saturday, and we're all feeling the aches from all that walking.  But I know I can do it, so I'm very determined to start a fairly intense exercise routine and finally get this baby weight off.   And our team raised $405 for the March of Dimes which is totally awesome!!!

Mother's Day Weekend has been pretty amazing for me.  Grandma and Grandpa kept the kids overnight on Friday, allowing Stephen and I to have a little alone time and to go to the Walk w/o our kids traipsing behind us.   They would not have made it through the morning.  It was insane.  After the walk, we came home and showered and then Stephen had scheduled a Mother's Day Massage for me.  It was heavenly.  And then the kids gave me Lamme's Chocolate Covered Strawberries and a Starbucks Card (reloaded).  This morning Stephen and Cayden took me to breakfast, which ended up being free because my omelette was not fully cooked and had raw egg white in it (YUCK).  And then we took Mom to lunch and met up with Heather and Eddie.  It's been a great day.  I'm now updating my blog and going to go and read my book club book, Pigs in Heaven, by Barbara Kingsolver.

Mother's Tea and Preschool Art Show

The Pre-K Classes at Westoak Woods Preschool held a Mother's Tea today.  It was so sweet.  The children served us a lovely breakfast.  I have to give kudos to the teachers, they worked really hard to make this morning so nice for us all.

Hannah and I got dressed up for the occasion.  I don't like many photos of me that are taken right now.  It's very difficult for me to get used to the fact that I haven't dropped the 50 lbs I gained while pregnant with Cayden, but I'm exercising and eating well so I know the weight is going to come off eventually.  Anyway, I think this photo of Hannah and I is beautiful.  I want to blow it up and put it in a frame.  Of course, I have my hair down and worn curly, which is something I rarely do anymore.  The easiest thing for me to do in the mornings is to pull it up into a ponytail.  I think I won't be doing that near as much anymore.

The children served us our plates and juice.  If we wanted coffee, we had to serve ourselves.  But Hannah made sure to get two of everything so I didn't have to share.  What a silly girl.  She also gave me a very sweet card and "candle holder" that she made.  The card was a flower with something she loves about me written on each petal.  My favorite "I love my mom because. . . ." is the one that says, "she brings me coffee."  Shows you where we love to go as a family.  LOL.  Yes, my name is Rose and I am a Starbucksaholic.

Here are some more photos from the morning:

I also got a few photos from Mrs. April's class next door.  Here's one of J and Miss D.

And this week there has been a Preschool Art Show on display.  I got a few photos of Hannah's class' art as well as a picture of Miss D's art as well.

The TWO Year Old, Take 1

So my baby boy has turned two. Last week, I must remind everyone. He's weaned (sniff), obsessed with sports (of any kind), thinks he's as big as Hannah (sniff, sniff), and more than likely our last baby (bawling) - we'll have to see what the next year brings.
We had his 2 year birthday party for his little friends on Friday, the 27th. It was a lot of fun to see the babies enjoy the dinosaur fun I planned for them all.
Dinosaur Cake by Cindy Hunt of Cinderella Cakes
The Birthday Boy and his BlowerHunting for "Dinosaur Eggs"
Digging for "Dinosaur Bones"

And then we had a picnic lunch fit for both carnivores (hot dogs) and herbivores (veggies) and moved on to the wonderful cake that Cindy made for Cayden.

And of course, what's a birthday without gifts??? Cayden loved each and every one of them. And Daddy shot the photos to avoid being in the pictures! LOL. . . real flattering, Daddy
A photo of C and Mr. W in their matching outfits. . this was unplanned! The whole gang, minus Miss M and Mr. J who had to leave early.

On Saturday, we celebrated with our family.  We had a joint birthday party for both Blaine and Cayden since their birthdays are 2 days a part.  It was a Rock 'n Roll Party with fun for everyone.

Aunt Bekah made a fun Dino cake for Cayden.

And a super cool guitar cake for Blaine.060

When it was time to open the gifts, Daddy took over the camera and let Mommy help with the presents.

And the the fun outside began on the water slide.

Baby C and Daddy.

Hannah and Miss B.

I know there are more pictures somewhere. . . have to wait until I find them.   Grrrr.

And finally, on C's actual birthday, we went to Build-A-Bear and built him a dino.  And then we took him to get his picture made at the Picture People (it's tradition).  Uncle K took some awesome photos, too.
