I think I've turned into a crazed maniac. Or maybe I just really want to lose 50 lbs. I don't know, but I am searching for any moment that I can exercise and have fun. I've decided that I want to train to RUN a 5K. Not walk it. I've done that before, but run one. So what do I do? I think that in 103* heat, I should go RUNNING. Yeah, it didn't turn out so well. First of all, the trail I was going to run heads into a very woodsy area. I was going to run by myself (I know, you should run alone, but the fam was at the park nearby). As I start my run, I warm up with a 5 minute walk and then start jogging for 1 1/2 minutes to then stop for 1 minute, etc. I get into my 1 1/2 minute run and feel like the world is closing in on me and that someone is watching me, so I chickened out and headed back. Maybe I'll try again when it's not so hot and I'm not so alone. LOL.
But I did get my 20 minute workout in today. Totally kicked my butt, but I am now officially 1/2 way through the 30 day challenge. And then, while regroup is playing sand volleyball this evening, I walk the kids over to the park pool and swim/walk the pool with them for nearly an hour. I'm so afraid that I'm going to be sore tomorrow, BUT I had a blast while exercising and keeping my kids active. And now, they have both been sleeping soundly for an hour or so. Praying that they will get up tomorrow for VBS/Summer Camp and have another great day!!

Bathtime - Sunday night. Hannah is avoiding bathtime and bedtime. What does she tell me, "Remember, Momma, I'm too big to take a bath with Cayden. I have to wait until he's done with his bath because he might lay on me with his peepee." Really? I'm fairly certain last night, she bathed with her brother. Now I know she's about to start first grade, and she really is too big to bathe with her brother, but she's also too big to lay in my bed, but that doesn't stop her from trying. I guess along with making it through this summer without any injuries to my children, we are also going to start going to bed in our own room and take a bath/shower by herself. What does that mean? It also means no more baths with mommy. I'm sure she didn't think of that one. But she'll learn soon enough.
Mammaw bought her another workbook. She's worked with it all afternoon, but just now decided she can't read any of the pages. She's making me crazy. That's okay. A little bit at a time, right? I'm not going to make her do homework during the summer.
As for my darling little boy, he is officially a big boy. We potty trained this week. He's doing great! Big boy underwear all day (except church with Mammaw), dry all day (including nap), and has told us all day about his underwear being dry and when he needs to go potty.
Of course, I'm still getting used to being the mommy of a little boy. I caught him in the living room, lying on the floor with his p**** on the outside of his underwear just staring at the ceiling. He wasn't touching it, he wasn't playing with it, I guess he was just "airing" it out. Regardless, I just stood there and then had Stephen explain that being naked is private and for the bathtub and potty only. Very disturbing.
As for myself, I'm working out every day and have now decided to train using the couch to 5k program. Here goes nothing, right? I may die trying, but I'm excited about having some sort of workout goal as well as my weight loss goal. I may have overdid it today - my lower back is literally killing me, but I'm trying to breathe through it.
Here's to a great week - VBS, Preschool Summer Camp, and lots of fun!

Got this from my sister and had to share - hilarious!!
True Redneck Summer Top!!!!
This was taken in front of the Gardendale, Alabama , Wal-Mart,
where the young lady was shopping at the Flea market.
This is hysterical! Look at it closely.
Now I ask you...
Who stands and looks at a pair of men's briefs and says
hummmm ... I can make me a nice summer top from these!!
On the other hand .... $6 for a three pack is a good price!!
But what if they weren't bought new? That's redneck recycling at its best.
Don't throw out yer feller's drawers when the skidmarks don't wash out no more.
Just cut the crotch out and wear 'em.
How very Green!

- Children's laughter
- Lawn mowers in the background
- Splashing water
- Ice cream trucks
- Swimming pools and sprinklers
- Backyard BBQs
I think I'm starting to love this time of year. My kids are having so much fun playing together. Cayden really missed Hannah during the school year. And now he feels really cool because we are going to Preschool Summer Camp twice a week so Hannah gets to come to HIS school. Talk about an awesome thing for a little brother.
The kids are loving time to splash. The Splash Rocket is a huge hit with our friends and family, although in our backyard, we had to cut playtime short due to an ant invasion :( but we will treat and the kids will play again. Hannah and Cayden thought it would be a great idea to turn the Sandturtle into a little pool It works for the time being. Time to invest in a kiddie pool for the summer. And then at the end of the season, we'll look into a more permanent bigger pool.
We've had our fun in the sun - with friends and family. Here's to three months of it!

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street. I was viewing the Top Ten Moments of Sesame Street here and felt the need to post my very favorite memories of Sesame Street. I have to be honest, but my children haven't watched Sesame Street as much as I would have liked them to. They have been too interested in the interactive form of Television like Blue's Clues, Go, Diego, Go, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and their new favorite, Special Agent Oso. But they have enjoyed Sesame Street as well. As a child, I grew up watching Sesame Street religiously. So in my attempts to relive my childhood and reintroduce one of my favorite childhood shows to my kiddos, I will share my top 10 favorites.
The Ladybugs' Picnic. Who can forget this fun song that helps you learn to count to 12? I still sing it to my children.
Rubber Ducky - Yes, I in fact do have my original rubber ducky from my childhood as well as many other ones that we've picked up for the kids. Mine of course, is lacking a beak, thanks to my dog, Pokey.
Snuffy before he was revealed. I miss this part of the show tremendously.
People in Your Neighborhood
Sing After Me
Fuzzy and Blue
The Alligator King
The Two Headed Monsters - this one is sharing headphones
That's all! There are so many more things from Sesame Street that I love. I think I may sit down with my kids and watch an episode tomorrow!
Edited to Add:
We can't forget Elmo!

I'm stealing this idea from Traci.
Meet the Teacher:
Last day of Kindergarten:
I cannot believe how much she's grown up! Wow!! She looks so tiny in that first photo. And so grown up in the 2nd one. We're certainly proud of our little girl.
Of course, we want to share the fabulous shirt Mommy "made" her today. I had some iron on glitter letters and a pink shirt (thanks to Dorothy).
